HIIT stands for High Intensity Interval Training and it has been a major part of my life since I was 13.
Ok lets back track a little, who am I?
My name is Andrew and I am former boxer, police officer and Judo player. I am also a qualified fitness instructor.
But none of this is why you should listen to me, you should pay attention because I have been fat, I have been thin and also fat again, I am now thin. So whatever your stage of fitness I have been there.
Let me explain:
In 2015 I was diagnosed with having chronic exercise induced asthma. That is right, the guy who had own Judo championship, boxed for the police National Team, won the British Police Boxing Championships and been a fitness 'nut' was now unable to work out without a ton of inhaled steroids and tablets.
So I left the police because I was no longer allowed to patrol and started my own business. I also felt really low!
You see working out for me was a passion but now I was left with a condition that took it away from me, it actually hurt to work out. Over the course of the next 2 years I piled on the weight.
I was drinking booze every night, stuffing my face and getting fat.
It is not like I did not know how to eat or get fit, I just lost my passion.
However one fine day I had enough! I saw a photo of myself and wanted to change the way I looked and I drew upon over 25 years of fitness knowledge and went back to the same routine that got me fit whenever I fought.
